Lady Colonels Open Track and Field Season With 7th Place Finish

The Christian County Lady Colonels opened their 2025-26 track and field season with a seventh-place finish at the Henderson County Colonel Invitational on Saturday.

The Lady Colonels scored 27 points to finish one point ahead of Henderson County and 14 points behind sixth-place Apollo. Kirkwood, Tenn., won the event with 161 points.

In the 100-meter dash, Jazmyn Rodriguez led the Lady Colonels with a fifth-place finish in 13.86 seconds. Adreyona Smith followed in ninth place with a time of 14.71, while Kacsidy Quarles placed 11th in 14.82.

Rodriguez also posted a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 29.21 seconds. Kaliyah Leavell finished 11th in 30.31, and Avaiya Brown placed 15th in 31.39.

In the 400-meter dash, Imani Cushenberry ran 1:13.46 to finish eighth, while Shyla Haverstick followed closely in ninth place with a time of 1:13.93.

Aubree Cline competed in the 800-meter run, finishing 19th with a time of 3:12.19.

Christian County’s relay teams produced top-six finishes. The Lady Colonels placed fifth in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 57.84 and sixth in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 5:04.43.

In the high jump, Leavell placed eighth with a leap of 11 feet, 4.5 inches.

The Lady Colonels had their highest individual finish of the meet in the throwing events. Genesis McGee placed third in the discus with a throw of 75 feet, 8 inches.

Olivia Jones added an eighth-place finish in the discus at 63 feet, 4 inches, and also competed in the shot put, finishing 12th with a throw of 21 feet, 2.5 inches. Takiyah Davie placed ninth in the discus with a mark of 58 feet, 2 inches.
