The Lyon County Lady Lyons faced off in preseason action with Apollo on the road on Saturday, but they were unable to get the win, as they fell 7-6 in the six innings that the two teams played.
Ava Prow was the only pitcher that entered the game for the Lady Lyons, pitching all six innings. She racked up five strikeouts, but she allowed 10 hits on the way to those pinch outs.
Audrey Akridge, Brooklyn Tackett, and Prow all got it done at the plate for Lyon with two hits apiece. Jaylen Tackett led the way for the team in RBIs with two, while Brooklyn Tackett was able to put one over the fence for a solo shot.
Jenna Coursey and Emma Brasher were both also able to get on the board with hits, and Coursey batted in a run of her own.
Lyon County will play one more scrimmage before the start of the regular season, and they will go up against the Lady Maroons of Madisonville-North Hopkins on Monday, March 16. If the weather permits, the game will begin at 6 p.m. at Lyon County High School.
