Crittenden County’s Track Team Competes at Caldwell County 1st Flight Invitational

The Crittenden County Rockets competed at the Caldwell County 1st Flight Invitational on Saturday and captured an 11th-place finish.

The Rockets had several distance runners place inside the top 10. River Rogers finished sixth in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:16.97 and returned to place sixth again in the 3,200 meters in 11:44.50.

Noah Martinez placed eighth in the 1,600 meters at 5:21.33 and seventh in the 3,200 meters in 11:49.95.

Aiden Musser recorded a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:28.87 and later placed 13th in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.94.

Landon Starkey finished 10th in the 800 meters at 2:33.35 and 13th in the 1,600 meters with a time of 5:37.70. Kayden Farmer added a 14th-place finish in the 800 meters at 2:42.00.

In the sprints, Samuel Powell finished 21st in the 100-meter dash in 14.00 and 21st in the 200 meters in 28.71. Kevin Little placed 23rd in the 100 meters at 14.19 and 16th in the 200 meters with a time of 28.19. Reece Travis finished 25th in both the 100 meters (14.49) and the 200 meters (31.75).

Alex Hewitt also competed in the hurdles, finishing ninth in the 300-meter hurdles in 1:01.33.

Crittenden County’s relay teams also competed in two events. The 4×100-meter relay team placed sixth with a time of 50.47, while the 4×200-meter relay team finished fourth in 1:44.96.

Garyson Hall led the Rockets in the throwing events with a fifth-place finish in the discus at 104-2. Hall also placed 11th in the shot put with a throw of 35-8.5.

Ivan Madden finished 17th in the discus with a throw of 79-7 and 26th in the shot put at 27-0. Parker Phillips placed 20th in the discus at 70-2 and finished 23rd in the shot put with a mark of 28-11.

Trae Taylor recorded a seventh-place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 4-10. Taylor also competed in the long jump, placing 13th with a leap of 14-11.

Hewitt added a 17th-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 11-3.

Meanwhile, the Lady Rockets finished 10th in the team standings.

Crittenden County was led on the track by Ella Geary, who recorded a pair of top-10 finishes. Geary placed eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.93 and later finished sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:12.57.

Shelbi Belt also competed in the sprints, finishing 20th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.76 and 12th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 32.27.

The Lady Rockets had two strong finishes in the discus, led by Ella Whitney, who placed third with a throw of 73 feet, 2 inches. Layken Gilchrist followed with a fourth-place finish at 69-5.

Erika McKendree placed 11th in the discus with a throw of 61-4, while Peyton Smith finished 12th at 58-2.

In the shot put, Gilchrist led the team with a ninth-place finish at 24-5. Smith placed 17th with a throw of 18-6, and McKendree finished 18th at 18-3.

Geary also finished third in the long jump with a mark of 14-1.
