
The Hopkins County Central Lady Storm opened the 2026 track and field season on Saturday with an 11th-place finish at the Caldwell County 1st Flight Invitational.
Maria Kerby led the Lady Storm on the track, finishing ninth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:17.27 and placing eighth in the 800-meter run in 3:14.68.
Aubrey Thompson placed 15th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.22 and finished 16th in the 200 meters in 33.28. Shiya Whitaker recorded a 17th-place finish in the 100 meters at 15.55 and added a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles in 22.46. Whitaker also competed in the 200 meters, finishing 17th.
Stevette Combs placed 25th in the 100-meter dash in 17.51. Brooklynn Adams finished 24th in the 200 meters with a time of 37.26, while Natalie Larson placed 26th in 39.01.
Anijah Couch finished 15th in the 400 meters in 1:22.29, and Kaydence Poustka placed 19th in 1:41.10. Jemma Geary recorded a ninth-place finish in the 800 meters in 3:15.49, and Jenna Fairchild placed 11th in 3:30.16.
In the hurdles, Maleah Pearson finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles in 30.08. Olivia Martin placed eighth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.89, while Lilly Smith finished 10th in 1:12.80.
The Lady Storm placed fourth in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 6:21.28. They also finished seventh in the 800-meter relay in 2:22.84 and eighth in the 400-meter relay with a time of 1:01.71.
Amiyah Ikeard had a strong showing in the throws, finishing second in the discus with a mark of 75 feet, 6 inches. She also placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 25-11.
Imani Crosby finished 14th in the discus at 49-5. Lanyah Jiles placed 15th in the shot put with a mark of 19-3.5, and Elli Williams finished 19th at 17-10.5.
