Lyon County carries an 11-game winning streak into Thursday night’s first-round game at the UK Healthcare Boys Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena. The Lyons will play 8th Region champion North Oldham, winners of 14 straight.
The teams played on Dec. 29 in the White, Greer, and Maggard Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic, with North Oldham winning 47-37. The Lyons shot just 26% from the field and hit four 3-pointers.
Following Lyon County’s double-overtime win for the region championship, Lyons’ coach Ryan Perry said he feels like his team will be ready for the rematch for North Oldham, who is making their second Sweet 16 appearance and first in four years.
