Christian County improved to 3-0 and got its 8th-District slate off to a winning start on Tuesday with a 19-0 victory over hosts Fort Campbell.

The Lady Colonels got all the offense they would need in the top of the 1st, with an RBI single by Chloe Almy and a two-run inside-the-park home run by Alondra Rodriguez highlighting the 10-run onslaught.

Christian County took advantage of five Fort Campbell errors to turn 11 hits into 19 runs. Lady Colonels pitchers Alyssa Petterson and Ashlyn Miller combined to hold the Lady Falcons to a single hit over three innings.

Petterson earned the win in the circle, striking out five with a walk and allowing one hit. Miller worked the 3rd, walking one and striking out three.

Rodriguez and Alexis Epps both finished with two hits and two RBI, Almy was 2/2 with a run driven in, Petterson collected two hits, and Alison Grant and Jordan Turner each drove in a pair of runs.

On Saturday, the Lady Colonels will look to extend their perfect start when they travel to face Muhlenberg County, Madisonville-North Hopkins, and Jo Byrns, TN at the Lady Lyons Invitational in Lyon County.

Chelsey Cooper took the loss for the Lady Falcons as they slipped to 0-2. Cooper allowed 11 runs, five earned, on seven hits with four walks and a strikeout. Tristin Caldwell had Fort Campbell’s lone hit.
