Jo Byrns scored in the top of the first inning and never trailed for the night as the Todd County Central Rebels dropped their fourth straight game, falling 8-1 in Elkton. The Rebels did not help their own cause any, being charged with four errors in the field that allowed Jo Byrns to score three unearned runs.
Jo Byrns added three more runs in the top of the third to make it 4-0.
The Rebels (1-5) avoided the shutout with a run in the bottom half of the inning. Todd Central used three straight singles and a Jo Byrns error to push across the run and trim the lead to 4-1.
Jo Byrns would add a run in the fourth, two more in the fifth, and one more insurance run in the top half of the seventh inning.
Spencer Pool led the Rebels at the plate, going 2-3 with a double and a run scored. Landon Haley and Kody Kemp had one hit each.
Jacob Jackson got the start for the Rebels on the mound and was charged with the loss. He went 6 ⅓ innings, giving up eight runs, just five of them earned, on nine hits, striking out nine and walking two.
