Fielding issues were a bit of a problem Friday evening for the Lyon County Lyons. The Lyons were charged with 8 errors as they dropped a 12-0 six-inning decision to McLean County.
The errors allowed the Cougars to score six unearned runs in the game.
McLean County put four runs on the road in the top of the first and never looked back. The Cougars added single runs in the top of the third and fourth, then hung 3 spots up in the top of the 5th and 6th.
McLean pitchers Layden Bozarth and Jayden Taylor allowed the Lyons just four hits for the night. Colton Prow had two of the hits. Carson Lewis and Payson Oliver had one hit each.
Three Lyon County pitchers combined to give up the 12 runs, just six of them earned.
Lyon County (4-2) will be spending part of next week in action in Clarksville.
