Chase Fort’s Big Game Leads Colonels Past Bearden

The Christian County Colonels got a big game from Chase Fort as they put an end to a two-game losing skid Saturay morning with an 8-3 win over the Bearden Bulldogs.

Christian County (3-3) got on the board first when Blake Boehman doubled to left in the bottom of the first inning. Jonathan Lewis scored on the throw to put the Colonels up 1-0.

Bearden used a Christian County error to even things up at 1-1 in the top of the third.

The Colonels used five singles and a walk to push across three runs in the bottom of the fourth and take the lead back at 4-1.

After Bearden cut the lead to 4-2 with a run in the top of the 5th inning, the Colonels put the game away with a four-run rally in the bottom of the sixth. The big hit of the inning was a two-run double from Chase Fort.

Fort ended up going 3-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Gage Montes was 2-4 and Dylan Sweeney was 1-2 with two RBIs.

Gage Montes got the start on the hill, going 5 innings, giving up two runs, one of them earned, on four hits, striking out five and walking three.
