The Dawson Springs Lady Panthers softball team went into their game against McLean County looking to snap their three-game losing streak. But despite being on their home field, Dawson fell to the Lady Cougars 9-6.

The Lady Panthers struck first in the bottom of the first inning with three runs to take the reins. Those runs came from a double from Pearlena Hoffines and a groundout from Ashlon Hawkins that scored Katie Blanchard from third base.

Unfortunately for Dawson Springs, McLean County scored eight of their runs unanswered to take a commanding 8-3 lead.

The Lady Panthers were able to score one run in each of the last three innings, but it was not enough to overcome the lead that the Lady Cougars had built up for themselves.

Dawson Springs will be looking to bounce back in their next game on the road against the Lady Maroons of Madisonville-North Hopkins on Monday, April 20. First pitch of their game will be at 5:30 p.m. at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School.
