Trigg County was held scoreless for the first time this season and saw a six-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday with a 2-0 loss to hosts Livingston Central. The Lady Cardinals ran their 5th-District record to 5-1 and handed the Lady Wildcats only their second district defeat.
Trigg County’s Kady Fuller doubled in the top of the 1st and was thrown out trying to stretch it to a triple, the only hit Livingston Central’s Addison Tramble would allow. Tramble struck out 14 and only issued two walks over seven innings to earn her 19th win of the season.
Tramble led off the bottom of the 1st with a triple, and came home on a Trigg error for an early Lady Cardinal advantage. Tember Oliver took the loss in the circle, giving up an earned run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts before exiting after two innings. Lily Eagleson took over, allowing a single earned run on three hits with two strikeouts through four frames.
Tramble got things started again with a lead-off single in the 6th, and scored on Irelynn Burns’ RBI single to cap the scoring.
Livingston Central improved to 22-6 ahead of a trip to McCracken County on Saturday.
Trigg slipped to 24-6 with its first loss since an April 17 defeat to North Oldham in the semifinals of the Kentucky 2A Championships Softball State Tournament.
The Lady Wildcats will look to get back on track on Saturday with matchups against Oldham County and Allen County-Scottsville at the 2026 Spartan Showcase.
