Going into their game against McCracken County on Tuesday evening, the Christian County baseball team had won four games in a row. But the Mustangs were able to go on the road to Hopkinsville and get the 5-0 victory to break that streak.
McCracken scored two runs in the top of the first inning with a single and a double, and they also scored another in the second. After a scoreless inning in the third, the Mustangs then put up two more in the fourth.
After that, McCracken County’s pitching was able to close out the game and get the 5-0 win for their second in a row.
The Mustangs’ pitching got the better of the Colonels, as Christian County had just three base knocks. Those came from Gage Montes, Blake Boehman, and Gavin Mitchell.
The Colonels will be looking to bounce right back in their next game against the Trigg County Wildcats on Thursday, May 14. Their game will begin at 6 p.m. at Christian County High School.
