In baseball, Caldwell County’s first trip ever to Owensboro Apollo did not go the Tigers’ way.
Caldwell gave up nine unearned runs and failed to record a base hit in an 11-0 loss to the Eagles in five innings.
A two-out error in the bottom of the third inning opened the door for a nine-run frame for Apollo. Because of the error, all of the runs in the frame were unearned.
The Eagles added two more runs in the fourth to go up 11-0.
Ty Lollipop was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI for Apollo. Gunnar Hendricks and Jagger Pate were also 2-for-3 for the Eagles.
Gage Logsdon struck out three and walked one while pitching the no-hitter for Apollo, which is 15-11.
Caldwell is now 17-10.
The Tigers will go to Mayfield on Thursday.
