The Christian County Lady Colonels softball team’s final season is not over just yet, as they were able to get the 15-0 win over the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons in the 8th District Championship at home on Tuesday evening.

The Lady Colonels started off quick with three runs in the bottom of the first inning to go up early. Those runs came from a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly, and three more runs from County in the second came from another sac fly and a double from Talyn Ezell.

This gave the Lady Colonels an early 6-0 lead, but they did not stop there. They were able to score nine more runs in the bottom of the third, and that inning was highlighted by a two-run home run off the bat of Katie Smith.

And since Christian County had gone up by 15 runs, the game was called due to mercy rule, and the Lady Colonels will advance to the 2nd Region Tournament.

Jordan Turner was on the mound for Christian County, and she pitched all three innings on her way to getting the win. She racked up seven strikeouts and did not allow a single hit, as she was the driving force for the Lady Colonels.

Talyn Ezell led the way for Christian County at the plate with a pair of base knocks and an impressive five runs batted in.

She and the rest of the Lady Colonels will be looking to help lead the team to their first win in the region tournament since 2022.
