
The UHA Lady Blazers completed the season sweep of Fort Campbell on Friday, running all over the Lady Falcons on the way to a 15-5 victory.
The Lady Blazers found themselves trailing 4-2 after Jordan Wilkerson doubled to drive in a pair of runs in the top of the 3rd. However, UHA tied the game on Regan Pollard’s RBI double, and led 4-2 after runs came home on a wild pitch and a passed ball.
Leading 11-5 in the bottom of the 6th, Pollard capped a four-RBI night with a triple to drive in two and put the Lady Blazers up 13-5. The last two runs came home on passed balls to end the game.
Mallory Ladd worked the first three frames in the circle for UHA, allowing four runs, two earned, on two hits with four walks and three strikeouts. Pollard finished the game, striking out four and holding the Lady Falcons without a hit.
Pollard had three hits to lead UHA, and Jaila Batey was 2/2 at the plate.
Carrie McCrary took the loss for Fort Campbell, surrendering nine runs, six earned, on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts. Chiara Rhoads worked the final three frames, allowing five earned runs on three hits with five strikeouts.
UHA returns to its home field on Monday for an 8th-District matchup with Hopkinsville. Fort Campbell welcomes Christian Fellowship to post on Saturday, looking to avenge a 6-4 loss back on March 25.
