The Hopkinsville Lady Tiger volleyball team didn’t get a win at the Bluegrass State Volleyball Games over the weekend in Lexington, but coach Laykin Peek liked her team’s never-say-die attitude.
In Friday’s pool play, Hoptown lost to Walton Verona 21-17, 9-21, 7-15 and dropped a 21-9, 21-7 decision to Lexington Catholic.
With the pools redrawn for Saturday, Hopkinsville went 0-3 falling to Bardstown 21-5, 21-9; North Hardin Classical 21-9, 21-10; and Anderson County 21-10, 21-5.
The Lady Tigers closed out play Sunday with a loss to Dayton.
The first-year coach said the weekend was a good tool to determine areas of improvement before the first game in two weeks.
Hopkinsville will play at Madisonville in their season opener on August 16.
