The Todd County Central Lady Rebels looked to be out of their match against University Heights Saturday. With just ten minutes left, the Lady Blazers held a 3-0 lead and appeared to be on the way to rebounding from a tough loss to Caldwell County in the All A Classic. Then, it all changed over the final ten minutes.
The Lady Rebels scored three times in the last ten minutes to pull out a 3-3 draw with the Lady Blazers. After years of not coming within four goals of University Heights, the Lady Rebels have now played the Lady Blazers even in their last two matchups, including a 1-1 draw last season.
With Audrey Grise leading the way, the Lady Blazers appeared to have this one well in hand for most of the match. Grise scored at the 18:00 to put UHA up 1-0 and that would still be the score at the break.
Grise scored her second goal of the match at the 55:00 off an assist from her sister Alyssa to extend the lead to 2-0.
Grise would complete the hat trick at 61:00 off an assist from Addi Fourqurean. Then it came undone for the Lady Blazers.
Madison Henderson would score twice and Hannah Oliver would find the net as well as the Lady Rebels, who could not find the net in the first seventy minutes of the match, found it three times in the final ten minutes. Coming into the match, the Lady Rebels had scored a total of three goals in their first three matches.
UHA now stands at 2-2-1 on the season. The Lady Blazers host McCracken County Thursday night.
Todd County Central is now 0-3-1. The Lady Rebels host Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday.
