
The Hopkins County Central Lady Storm took the McCracken County Lady Mustangs down to the wire but it was the Lady Mustangs winning in the end 61-59 Thursday night in Paducah.
The Lady Mustangs had an early first quarter lead with McCracken scoring 20 points in the quarter to take a 20-10 lead after one.
The Lady Storm came battling back in the second quarter to make it a 31-31 game at the half. Addie Menser scored 8 points in the second quarter to help the Lady Storm battle back.
The third quarter was a very even matchup with both teams scoring one after another but it was the Lady Mustangs taking a 47-46 advantage into the fourth quarter. Ava Hughes being the difference maker scoring 5 points in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Hopkins County Central’s Tyah White scored 6 points but it wasn’t enough to get the upper hand and take the lead against the Lady Mustangs. Sarah Kate Houser had a strong fourth quarter for the Lady Mustangs with 8 points.
McCracken County had three players in double digits with Ava Hughes with 17 points, Sarah Kate Houser with 14 points, and Reagan Hill with 10 points.
For Hopkins Central, they also had three scorers in double figures with Addie Menser and Calajia Mason scoring 17 points each for the Lady Storm. Tyah White added 14 points.
Hopkins Central drops to 13-10 on the season. They will go back home to face Livingston Central on Friday night.
