Lyon County got the runs they needed in the third inning when Courtney Collins and Jenna Coursey got a pair of one-out singles. After Perry was intentionally walked to load the bases, Ava Prow singled, and Brenna Breitrick was hit by a pitch to bring in the only two runs of the game.
Collins had three of Lyon County’s eight hits
51 weeks ago, Perry threw a two-hit shutout in a 2-0 win over Marshall County. In both games, she threw 117 pitches, and Thursday’s win was the 40th of Perry’s career.
Emma Reynolds had a pair of hits for Marshall County, which dropped to 19-3.
For Lyon County, they improved to 7-8 and appear to be playing its best softball of the season. In the past week, they dropped close games to district rivals Livingston Central and Trigg County and defeated Christian County and Marshall County, a pair of teams expected to win their respective districts.
