Lyon County scored early and late on Monday to get past hosts Hickman County and improve to 9-11-1 ahead of a visit from Muhlenberg County on Tuesday.

The Lady Lyons broke a 2-2 tie in the second on back-to-back RBI singles by Courtney Collins and Jenna Coursey, and led the rest of the way.

After a leadoff double by Audrey Akridge in the sixth, Collins reached on an error to bring in a run before sacrifices by Lilly Perry and Ava Prow gave Lyon County a 7-2 advantage.  Addie Guess followed with an RBI single to cap the scoring for the Lady Lyons.

A triple by Kaylee Britton, followed by an RBI double from Blair Byassee, gave Hickman County some momentum in the bottom of the seventh, but Perry got the final two outs to seal a complete-game win in the circle.  Perry allowed three runs, two earned, on eight hits with a walk and seven strikeouts to run her record to 7-9.

Collins finished with three hits and two RBI for the Lady Lyons, followed by Akridge with three hits, and Coursey and Prow with two each.

Byassee took the loss, giving up four runs, three earned, on six hits with a strikeout and two walks.  She also led the Lady Falcons at the plate with three hits with an RBI.
