Lady Blazers Take Third Place at HGCC Invitational

Buoyed by a top-five finish from Allie Sanifer, University Heights Academy claimed third place at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club Invitational on Thursday.

Sandifer shot well on the front nine with pars on five of the holes to go out with a 40. Her score of 86 was three off a personal best and 13 shots off the winner, McCracken County’s Harper Hunt. Sandifer’s score was good for a fourth-place tie.

Campbell Lindsey tied for eighth place with a 90.

Caroline Tucker finished in 11th place with a score of 94, which included a birdie on No. 15. Her score was a 23-shot improvement from earlier in the week at the Henderson County Invitational.

Seventh grader Ella Perry scored a top-20 finish with a score of 104, good for 17th place and a five-shot improvement from earlier in the week.

Playing in her second 18-hole event, Kylee Grace finished in 21st place with a score of 110. Like Perry and Tucker, Grace also showed a four-day improvement, knocking 10 shots off her score.

As a team, UHA finished in third place, 25 shots behind second-place Ohio County.
