A tough start to the 2025 soccer season continued Thursday night for the Lyon County Lady Lyons. The Mayfield Lady Cardinals’ offense was flying high as they came into Lee S. Jones Park and left town with a 7-0 win over the Lady Lyons.
The win was the second straight to open the season for the Lady Cardinals. They picked up a win over crosstown rival Graves County earlier in the week.
For the Lady Lyons, offensive struggles have been a problem during the first week of the season as they have been shut out in losses to Caldwell County and Mayfield.
Lyon County (0-2) will look for its first win of the season Friday night when the Lady Lyons host Madisonville-North Hopkins in the Lady Marooons’ season opener.
