
The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers got in a lot of work on Saturday during the West Kentucky Smackdown.
However, Hoptown finished the day with an 0-5 mark.
The Lady Tiger started the day at the Planters Bank-Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex with a close 25-22, 25-21 setback to Garrard County.
Lainey Stewart had six kills and a block for Hopkinsville whie Madysen Taggart had four kills and two blocks. Sarah Gilliam recorded four kills and one block. Alayna King had 16 assists and a block. Kyleigh Weber had 11 digs.
Hoptown dropped its next match against Caldwell County 25-18, 25-17.
Taggart tallied seven kills and nine digs in that contest. Samyriah Walker had a kill. Weber recorded 19 digs.
The Lady Tigers completed pool play with a 25-7, 25-10 loss to eventual tournament champion Owensboro Catholic.
Taggart recorded two kills, a bloc and eight digs. Stewart had two kills. Weber totaled 14 digs.
Hopkinsville was then matched up with Union County in the Silver Bracket. That game was close, with the Lady Tigers bowing 25-18, 25-22.
Stewart had four kils, nine digs and six aces. Taggart recorded two kills and 15 digs. Weber had 22 digs. King added six assists and four digs.
Hopkinsville finished the day against crosstown rival University Heights Academy but dropped a 25-21, 25-17 decision.
Taggart totaled eight kills, two blocks and 10 digs in that match. King had a block, eight digs and seven assists. Weber had one kill and 13 digs and Kaley Bangart added 12 digs. Stewart had a block and nine digs.
Hopkinsville is now 0-6 this season.
The Lady Tigers will look for their first win on Monday when they visit Hopkins County Central.
