
The Trigg County girls’ soccer team continued its dominance over Crittenden County and got off to a winning start in 5th-district play on Thursday with an 8-2 victory over the host Lady Rockets.
The Lady Wildcats won for the 21st straight time in the series, with Crittenden’s last win coming during the 2016 season.
Leiah Hite led the way with three goals and a pair of assists, followed by Lydia Redd with two goals and two assists. Addison Humphries added two scoring strikes and an assist, Maggie Wolfe set up two goals and scored another, and Landie Hite had an assist.
Caroline Kosak and Kylie Sloane split time between the posts, with Kosak making seven saves and surrendering a goal, and Sloane finishing with eight stops and one goal allowed.
Crittenden County slipped to 4-3 with its third loss in four outings. The Lady Rockets will look to get back on track when they host Union County on Tuesday.
Trigg County moved to 5-2 with a trip to Christian County coming up next Thursday.
