Lady Rebels Charge Back for Four-Set Win Over Muhlenberg (w/PHOTOS)

After a bit of a slow start Thursday night, the Todd County Central Lady Rebels got things going in a big way. Losing the first set, Todd County Central charged back to win the next three and took the home court win over Muhlenberg County, three sets to one.

Out of the gate, it looked as if it was going to be a very long night for the Lady Rebels. Muhlenberg ran out to a 24-8 lead in the first as Todd County Central made adjustments to Naomi Gammons being out of the lineup.

With Aubri Penick at the serve, the Lady Rebels scored 12 straight and got within 24-20 before the Lady Mustangs finally got the set point, but the momentum swing had already taken place.

Led by the play of Penick, Allyssa Wofford, Shelby Holderman, and Chloe Collins, the Lady Rebels came back to take the second set 25-17, and then pulled ahead in the match two sets to one by winning the third set 25-23.

Todd Central then closed out the match by taking the third set 25-20.

Aubri Penick and Allyssa Wofford had big matches at the net. Penick finished with 23 kills and Wofford added 18 more. Penick also had five service aces.

Shelby Holderman finished the night with 30 assists.

Todd County Central (13-8) has now won five straight and will get back to work Monday evening when they host University Heights.
