
Trigg County senior Emma Dowell was named to the First Region Golf Second Team based on voting by the Kentucky State Golf Coaches Association.
Dowell finished 14th at the Region 1 Tournament and qualified for her third KHSAA State First Round. She was the first Trigg County golfer since Madison Chaney in 2013 to play in a state tournament round.
Dowell’s senior season included four finishes in the top five of invitational events, as well as a second-place finish in the Class 2A sectional. She was second at the Trigg County Invitational, third at the Christian County Invitational, and fourth at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club Invitational.
Region winner Trinity Beth of Marshall County was named the region player of the year. First Team selections were Beth, Madison Glisson (Ballard Memorial), Emlie Miller (Graves County), McCall Moore (Paducah Tilghman), and CeCelia Ray (Marshall County).
Joining Dowell on the Second Team were Harper Hunt (McCracken County), Brooklyn Cunningham (Marshall County), Kelli Roberts (Marshall County), Roxie Wilson (Graves County), Charlee Murphy (Marshall County), and Ella Shelbourne (McCracken County).
