Going into their Thursday matchup with Marshall County on the road, the Madisonville-North Hopkins baseball team had won their last three games in a row. Unfortunately for the Maroons, the Marshals were able to take advantage of their home field and grab the 7-1 win.

Marshall County was able to score all seven of their runs unanswered from the first to the bottom of the sixth inning, where they scored their final three.

Madisonville’s Brennen Cole scored on an error by the Marshall catcher in the top of the seventh to give the Maroons their first run of the game, but it was too little too late, and the Marshals were able to get their fifth win in a row while ending Madisonville’s win streak.

Blake Prow got the start on the mound for the Maroons, and while he was not able to shut down the Marshall County offense, he was able to rack up six strikeouts in just over five innings of work.

He also got it done at the plate with a pair of base knocks, while the team’s other two hits came from Brennen Cole and Ryder Sandidge.

Madisonville will be looking to bounce right back in their next game on Friday, May 8, against the Braves of Union County. That game will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Union County High School.
