Lady Sluggers Gain Thursday Split

A solid day Thursday for three Caldwell County Lady Tigers and the Louisville Lady Sluggers Premier 16U team. The Lady Sluggers opened the day with a big 21-0 win over TFS NTX Baker 16U, before dropping a tough 5-2 decision to the Gold Coast Hurricanes.

In the opener, the Lady Sluggers plated 14 runs in the top of the 1st inning and never looked back in a game that was called during the 3rd inning. Mashea Glover was 2-3 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBIs. Emma Staples was 2-2 with an RBI and two run scored. Katie Franklin was 0-0 with 3 walks, and RBI and a run scored.

In the circle, Franklin went two innings, giving up no runs on one hit, striking out three and walking one.

In their second game of the day, the Lady Sluggers fell behind the Gold Coast Hurricanes 5-0 and never could get out of the hole, falling 5-2.

Mashea Glover was 0-2 with two runs scored. Emma Staples was 0-0 with two walks. Katie Franklin was 1-2 in the game.

Franklin went one inning in the circle, giving up no runs on no hits.
