
Trigg County will use three days in Martin, Tenn. to try and find their way after a quick start to the basketball season saw them limp into Christmas with a four-game losing streak.
The Wildcats (3-5) will open play Thursday in the 55th Annual Martin Lion’s Club Christmas Tournament against host Westview (4-5).
The Chargers have not played since a 77-42 win over Adamsville on Dec. 14. It will be the first meeting between Trigg County and Westview.
Trigg County will be seeking to find defensive improvement. After allowing 49 points a game in their first four games that saw them win three times, the Wildcats are giving up 70 points during their four-game losing streak.
If Trigg County wins Thursday, they will play the Hillcrest/Trenton Peabody winner Friday at 8:30. If they lose, they will play Friday at 2:30.
Other teams in the eight-team, double-elimination tournament are all Tennessee schools – Trenton-Peabody (2-8), Hillcrest (4-5), Greenfield (0-10), Sacred Hearts of Jesus (of Jackson, 8-3), Lake County (3-4), and Dyer County (8-4).
