Dawson’s Pace, Lyon’s Perry Ranked in State Scoring Top 10

Dawson Springs senior Landon Pace continues to lead the state in scoring according to stats released Tuesday by the KHSAA.  Lyon County freshman Travis Perry is also ranked in the top 10.

Pace, who topped 1,000 career points last month, is scoring 36 points a game through three games played for the Panthers, who have their season interrupted due to COVID-19 protocols.

Pace is averaging a double-double for the season with his 10.3 rebounds per game ranking 20th.

North Laurel’s Reed Sheppard, the son of former Kentucky guard Jeff Sheppard, is second at 32.9 points per game.

Marshall County’s Zion Harmon (30.2 ppg.) is fifth in the state, and Lyon County’s Perry (28.3 ppg.) is ninth.

Perry also ranks 16th in free throw percentage (88.9%) and 24th in 3-point percentage (45.5%).  His teammate Jackson Shoulders is 18th in the state at 10.6 rebounds per game.

 

Other 2nd Region players dropping in the top 25 of the different stat categories were:

Livingston Central’s Max Downey, 6th in FT percentage (91.9%)

University Heights’ Academy’s D.J. Quarles,12th in 3-point percentage (50%) and 20th in 3-pointers per game (3.2)

Christian County’s JaSean Riley, 13th in FG percentage (70.6%)

In team categories, Lyon County ranks third in the state in scoring (81.4 ppg.), third in scoring margin (23.8), and fourth in rebounding (36.4 rpg.)

Dawson Springs is seventh in FT percentage (76.5%).
