Gracen Wynn homered and the Lyon County Lady Lyons pounded out ten hits in two innings on the way to a 16-0 win over UHA in the opening round of the 2nd Region tournament on Saturday at Christian County.

The Lady Lyons cruise into a semifinal matchup with Henderson County on Sunday.  The Lady Colonels scratched out a 6-5 win in the teams’ regular-season meeting back in early April.

Sydney Melton and Kaelyn Conger had back-to-back RBI singles to open the scoring in the bottom of the first.  Calista Collins singled in a run and Melton doubled in three in her second at-bat of the inning, followed by Conger’s second RBI of the frame.

Wynn capped the twelve-run first with a home run that hit the top of the center-field fence and bounced over just out of the reach of UHA centerfielder Krista Keller.

Melton added her fifth RBI of the day when she was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the second, and a two-run error gave the Lady Lyons the final fifteen-run margin.

Lilly Perry got the win for the Lady Lyons, striking out one in an inning of work.  Tori Schenk pitched the second and third, yielding a hit and striking out four.

Melton, Conger, and Katelyn Dykes each had two hits, and Hadlie Butler, Collins, Dykes, and Lauren Davis each drove in a run.

Regan Pollard started in the circle for the Lady Blazers, allowing twelve runs, only two earned, on seven hits with four walks and a strikeout.  Mallory Ladd pitched the second, yielding four runs, three earned, on three hits with two strikeouts and a walk.
