Trigg Golfers Place Sixth at First-Ever Class 2A State Championships

Trigg County finished in sixth place at the first-ever Class 2A State Golf Championships held Monday at the Owensboro Country Club.

Hunter Reynolds led the Trigg golfers with an 8-over-par 80.  His birdie on the par-5 first hole proved to be his lone circled number of the day. He had 11 pars in his round and finished tied for 20th place.

Hayden Reynolds and Ty Butts both shot a 14-over 86 to finish in a tie for 35th place. Butts shot a 41 on the front nine, and Reynolds had a birdie as part of a 41 on the back nine.

Dallas Ahart shot a 17-over 89 to finish in a tie for 39th place. Tyler Ahart improved seven shots on the back nine and finished with a round of 99 for 47th place.

As a team, Trigg County shot an aggregate score of 53-over to finish in sixth place, 48 shots behind the winner Christian Academy-Louisville.

Trigg County will play in the Region I Tournament Monday at the Paducah Country Club.
