The Christian County Lady Colonels ended their six-match losing streak with a pair of wins Saturday at the Colonel Showcase at the Stadium of Champions. The Lady Colonels knocked off Caldwell County 2-0 and followed that with a 6-4 win over Trigg County.

In their opening match of the day, the Lady Colonels got goals from Autumn Bell and Megan Lacy to pick up the win over Caldwell County. Bell scored on the rebound of a missed shot at the 34:00 mark to give Christian County a 1-0 lead. The score stayed that way until Megan Lacy finally put the Lady Tigers away at the 76:00 mark with a shot that deflected off the left post and into the net.

The second match saw the Lady Colonels take a 5-1 lead early in the second half and then hold off a Trigg County rally to get the two-goal win.

Autumn Bell scored two goals in the first 2 ½ minutes of the match to put Christian County up 2-0. Lania Hite scored for Trigg County at the 16:00 mark to cut the lead to 2-1.

Autumn Bell’s third goal of the match at 33:15 pushed the lead out to 3-1, which would be the halftime score.

Bell scored again just seven minutes into the second half to extend the lead to 4-1. Cayleigh Clay would add a goal on a direct kick at 53:00 to seemingly put the match away at 5-1.

But back came Trigg County. Three goals from Audrey Choate over a 13-minute span would cut the lead to 5-4.

Christian County would seal the win with a penalty kick goal from Taylor Dunn at 73:15.

With the two wins, Christian County improves to 3-7-2. The Lady Colonels return to action Wednesday at Fort Campbell.
