Christian Fellowship Tunes Up for Season by Downing Heritage Christian

Heritage Christian Academy got its first taste of KHSAA girls’ basketball Friday, while Christian Fellowship got a preseason tune-up for what they hope will be a breakout season for the Draffenville school.

CFS used the strong inside play of Gracie Howard to turn back the Lady Warriors 53-18 Friday in Hopkinsville.

Howard, who is one of five returning starters for CFS, averaged 22 points a game last year as the Lady Eagles finished with a 13-12 record. She had 22 points through three quarters Friday.

CFS led 17-7 after one quarter and extended its lead to 33-13 by halftime.

Lillian Burnett, who averaged 16 points a game last year, added 13 points for the Lady Eagles.

Bailey Craft led HCA with eight points and three rebounds, and Hallie Zieg added five points and eight rebounds.

Christian Fellowship opens its 2021-22 season on Nov. 30 against Dawson Springs.

Friday was the second tough night for HCA, who lost to Christian Community, Tenn. 44-6 Thursday night. The Lady Warriors will host Montgomery Central, Tenn. on Nov. 30.
