The Hopkinsville High School girls’ track team had seven top-10 finishes at the KTCCCA President’s Day Indoor Invitational Sunday at the new Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville. The event brought together nearly 1,000 athletes from all age groups from various high schools, private and public teams in an event that last over nine hours.

Hopkinsville was strong in the throwing events with Alexandra Williams winning the weight throw — a large shot put attached with a cord much like the hammer throw.

Lori Moyd was second in the weight throw and third in the shot put.

Murray State University signee Allison Wood was fourth in the 3000-meter run and 7th in the 1500-meter run.

Rebecca Wood also had top-10 runs in the same event.

No team scores were kept.
