Hoptown Falls to Lady Trojans in Preseason Matchup

Webster County used a big second inning to springboard to a 19-1 scrimmage win over the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers Thursday night in Dixon. The Lady Trojans took advantage of 7 walks and 2 hit batters to ring up 13 runs in the second as they rolled to the big win.

Hopkinsville’s lone run in the game came in the top of the 4th when Taylor Joachim tripled to score Daijah Morand, who had reached on an error.

Jakayla Grubbs went 2-3 for Hopkinsville. Daijah Morand was 1-2 with a run scored. Taylor Joachim went 1-2 with a triple and an RBI.

Hannah Thorson pitched three innings in the circle for the Lady Tigers.

Hopkinsville will open the season March 22 on the road at Hopkins Central.
