Freshman Jordan Turner struck out all nine batters she faced Monday and led No. 1 seed Christian County High School back to a place it knows all too well: the 8th District Softball Tournament final.

The Colonels’ 16-0, three-inning victory over No. 4 Hopkinsville puts host County in the district title game at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. CCHS has captured the crown the past 19 seasons and has advanced to the final every year this century.

Turner (8-6) tossed the impressive perfect game on just 31 pitches. She threw an immaculate inning, which occurs when a pitcher strikes out all three batters they face in a single inning using a maximum of nine pitches, in both the top of the second and the third to end the run-shortened contest.

Hoptown finishes its 2024 season winless in 17 games.

Offensively, Christian County needed just four hits to score its runs Monday. The rest came from 10 drawn walks and six batters hit by a pitch, issued by Tigers starting pitcher Olivia Luttrull. Turner, Gracie Harned, Bailee Ladson, and Haley Patterson all finished 1-for-1 with two runs scored. Turner and Ladson combined for four RBIs. Avery Adcock had a team-high two walks and scored twice.

The Colonels (20-15) will take on No. 3 University Heights Academy (5-9) in Tuesday’s 8th District Championship. Heights defeated Fort Campbell 6-4 in the other semifinal Monday. CCHS has a 13-game winning streak against the Blazers since 2015. County and UHA played just once this season; that April 26 matchup was won by the Cols, 15-0, in three innings.
