Lyon County’s girls overcame an early deficit to dispatch Hickman County 7-3 in softball scrimmage action Thursday night in Eddyville.
A home run to left off the bat of Calista Collins broke a 3-3 tie and sent Lyon County on its way to the victory.
The scrimmage had originally been set to begin Saturday morning, but was moved up due to expected cold weather moving in.
Lyon’s girls will open the regular season at home on Monday against Madisonville-North Hopkins.
