Jenna Coursey did not play like an 8th grader for the Lyon County Lady Lyons Monday night. Coursey drove in four runs as the Lady Lyons picked up their second straight win by taking down Webster County 8-4.
Coursey’s two-run double in the bottom of the third inning put Lyon County ahead 2-1 and help ignite a four-run rally that would see the Lady Lyons lead 4-1 when the inning came to an end. Coursey would then connect for a two-run single in the bottom of the 4th inning as the Lady Lyons extended the lead to 7-1.
Lyon County would add an insurance run in the bottom of the 6th when Calista Collins doubled off the left-field fence and then scored on a single from Lilly Perry.
Perry got the start in the circle for Lyon County. She got into a bit of a jam in the top of the first. The Lady Trojans would score only one run in the inning though, as Perry got Alyssa Cartwright to ground out with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Webster County would add a run in the top of the 5th and two more in the top of the 7th but never seriously threatened the Lady Lyon lead.
Jenna Coursey finished the game 3-3 with a double, four RBIs, and a run scored. Calisa Collins was 2-2 with a double, a run scored, and two walks. Lilly Perry and Hadlie Butler also had two hits each for Lyon County.
Lilly Perry went the distance in the circle, giving up four runs, three of them earned, striking out three and walking three.
Sydney Shoulders paced the Webster County attack, going 2-4 with three RBIs.
Lyon County improves to 2-1 on the year. The Lady Lyons are scheduled to be back on the field Tuesday when they host Caldwell County.
