The Trigg County Lady Wildcats made a westward trip Saturday and dropped a pair of games to Ballard Memorial and Paducah Tilghman. The Lady Wildcats fell 9-4 to the Lady Bombers and then dropped a 13-3 decision to the Lady Blue Tornado.

The opening game of the day saw the Lady Wildcats have twice as many hits as Ballard Memorial, but the Lady Bombers were able to generate more runs in taking the five-run win.

The Lady Bombers broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the bottom of the third inning, giving them a 4-1 lead, a lead which they would not give up.

Trigg County would close to within 4-3 in the top of the fourth but that would be as close as they would get the rest of the way. The Lady Bombers sealed the win with three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Avery Wade, Audrey Alexander, and Brynlee Smock had two hits each for the Lady Wildcats.

Wade started in the circle and went 4 1/3 innings, giving up six runs, only two of them earned, as Trigg was charged with five errors in the game.

The second game of the day saw Paducah Tilghman score nine runs in their first three at-bats and were never threatened after that as the Lady Blue Tornado rolled to a 13-3 win.

Trigg County would cut the lead to 9-3 in the top of the fourth, stringing together four singles and a Tilghman error to score the runs.

But that would be the end of the rally for the Lady Wildcats as Tilghman would end the game with four runs in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Lillie Cortner was 2-3 for the Lady Wildcats. Kiley Stone finished 1-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. MaKenna Hendricks was 1-3 with an RBI.

The losses drop Trigg County to 4-3 on the year. The Lady Wildcats are set to be back in action Monday when they host Hopkinsville.
