
Hopkinsville’s jumpers and distance runners helped the Lady Tigers score a sixth-place finish Friday at the Chuck Gullo Twilight Relays hosted by Marshall County High School.
Lauren Mayes won the 1600-meter run, while LaTaijha Cherry was second in the high jump and sixth in the long jump.
As a team, Hopkinsville finished with 51.50 points – 18 points behind Herrin, Ill. and Centralia, Ill. who both tied for fourth place and 11.5 points ahead of seventh-place Caldwell County.

Alexandria Williams – 7th in the discus throw (85-07); 20th in the javelin throw (46-09); 21st in the shot put (25-07.50)
Tynaihja Watson – 11th in the triple jump (22-07.50); 22nd in the javelin throw (46-02)

The 6400-meter relay team finished first with a time of 25:31.14 over the four-mile distance.
The 1600-meter relay team came in fourth place in 4:39.40.
The 400-meter relay team finished in sixth place with a time of 56.36 seconds. The 3200-meter relay team also finished in sixth place, covering the distance in a time of 11:43.80.
The 800-meter relay team finished in seventh place in 1:59.93.
