
Caldwell County’s girls led 2-1 early at Marshall County, but the Lady Marshals came back to claim a 7-2 decision Monday in Draffenville.
Gracelyn Darnall was the winning pitcher for the Lady Marshals and also went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The Lady Tigers put up their two runs in the top of the third inning.
Brylee Butts tied the game at 1-1 with a sacrifice fly to center. Alicia Stanley then drove in another run with a two-out double to center, giving Caldwell its 2-1 lead.
But Marshall (18-13) knotted the game in the home half of the third, then scored another run in the fourth to go up 3-2.
The Lady Marshals made it 4-2 in the fifth, then put up three runs in the home half of the sixth inning to extend the margin to 7-2.
A.J. Hollowell was 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored for Caldwell.
Darnall, Charley Pursley, Anna Vasseur, Macy Morton and Marin Oakley each had two hits for Marshall.
The Lady Tigers are now 13-10.
Caldwell was scheduled to play at home on Tuesday, but Trigg County was forced to cancel that date to make up a district game at Crittenden County.
The Lady Tigers will finish the regular season with home games on Thursday and Friday, against Lyon County and Todd County Central, respectively.
