
Caldwell County pitching held Fort Campbell to just one base hit, and the Tigers finished the regular season with a 12-1 victory over the Falcons at the VFW Ballpark in Princeton.
Hunter Newsom allowed an unearned run and one base hit in four innings while picking up the win on the mound. He struck out eight and walked two.
Logan Smiley pitched a one-two-three fifth inning, striking out two, as Caldwell wrapped up the game early on the 10-run mercy rule.
Carter Whittington was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two runs batted in and two runs scored while Logan Smiley was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Luke Parker finished 2-for-3 and knocked in two while Newsom was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs batted in.
Fort Campbell (4-26) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Aidan Blaszkowski.

However, Caldwell (13-8) countered with four runs in the bottom of the frame to grab the lead. The Tigers added two runs in the second, one in the third and five in the fourth while building their 12-1 advantage.
The Tigers will head to Madisonville on Monday for a 7th District tournament semifinal game against Dawson Springs.
The Falcons have a home date Saturday against Webster County before entering 8th District tournament play Monday against Christian County at Hopkinsville High School.
