Trigg County closed out its track and field season with a pair of top 12 finishes at the Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Class 2A State Track and Field Championships at the University of Kentucky Friday.
Austin Cavanaugh came in 12th place in the 1600-meter run in 4:42.34, passing four runners in the last 800 meters. He also finished in 11th place in the 3200-meter run in 10:22.56.
Eighth-grader Peyton Williams finished 18th place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.65.
The 3200-meter relay team of Austin Cavanaugh, River Oliver, Marshall Jenkins, and Matthew Reeves finished in 16th place with a time of 8:59.32.
The 1600-meter relay team of River Oliver, Austin Cavanaugh, Marshall Jenkins, and Matthew Reeves came in 21st place in 3:49.57.
