Pickle Winkler has been named the 2022 Second Region softball player of the year and will be recognized at Saturday’s East-West All-Star Game in Bowling Green.
Winkler hit. 518 for Christian County in a senior season that saw her set a school record with 66 runs – which is tied for 10th most in a season in state history.
She led the Lady Colonels with 58 hits and four triples. She also stole 47 bases and was caught only three times.
Winkler was named all-district, all-region, and all-state in 2022.
For her Christian County career, Winkler hit .471 with 214 hits. She had 44 doubles and 13 career home runs with 109 runs knocked in.
Winkler, a University of Louisville signee, holds the Christian County school record with 165 stolen bases which are also tied for sixth in state history.
