After dropping a 3-0 decision to Meade County Friday night, the Christian County Lady Colonels closed out their part in the Owensboro Catholic Classic with a tie and a win Saturday. The tie came against LaRue County with the win coming against Breckinridge County.

In the game against LaRue County, the two teams combined for only five hits before the event time-limit caught up with them and ended the game knotted up at 1-1. LaRue County took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second, only to see Christian County tie the game up in the top of the third inning on a Lady Hawk error.

Outside of that it was a complete pitchers duel between Christian County’s Jordan Turner and LaRue County’s Isabelle Hayes. Turner went six innings, giving up one run on two hits, striking out three and walking one. Hayes went six innings, giving up one run on three hits, striking out five and walking one.

Gracie Harned, Chloe Almy, and Jordan Turner had one hit each for Christian County.

The second game saw Gracie Harned blank the Lady Tigers on just three hits as Chrsitian County took the 2-0 win in six innings. Harned struck out 8 and never let Breckinridge County really get anything going in the game.

Alyssa Petterson got the Lady Colonels on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the second to make it 1-0. Christian County added a run on a Breckinridge County error in the bottom of the third to push the lead to 2-0 and that would be plenty for Harned, who was taking care of business in the circle.

Christian County, which out hit the Lady Tigers 4 to 3, got hits from Avery Adcock, Gracie Harned, Jayda Turner, and Alyssa Petterson.

With the win and the tie, the Lady Colonels now stand at 16-12-1 on the season.
