Alice Smith banged in four goals and the Lyon County girls’ soccer team put the brakes on a two-game skid with a 5-0 victory over Christian County on Tuesday at the Stadium of Champions.

The teams split a handful of chances over the first twenty minutes before Smith got the Lady Lyons on the board when she scored her first off a free kick from Avery White.

Trailing 1-0 early in the second half, Addison Piatt almost evened things up for the Lady Colonels, but Lyon goalkeeper Maddie Russell saved her shot.

Less than a minute later, Smith doubled the advantage with a goal on a breakaway. Then, Kyndal Hubbard added the third, heading in off a corner from Anna White with just over thirty-five minutes to play.

Smith made it 4-0 with an unassisted strike and capped the scoring with a breakaway goal just inside the final twenty minutes.

Russell made six saves to earn her third shutout of the season. Olivia Fentress saved six shots for the Lady Colonels.

The Lady Lyons improved to 3-4 with a trip to St. Mary coming up on Friday.

The Lady Colonels will look to bounce back on Thursday when they make the trip to Logan County.
