The Christian County Colonels appeared to have the West Jessamine Colts just where they wanted them. The Colonels were up 2-1 early in the second half and seemingly had the momentum moving fully in their direction. However, the Colts scored three goals over a 15 minute time span as West Jessamine rallied for the 4-2 win Saturday morning at the Stadium of Champions.

The Colonels sent the message early that this match would be a battle. Christian County got into the scoring column first when Alex Hale found the net at the 23:30 mark to put Christian County ahead 1-0. The West Jessamine goalie had come out to try and make a play on the ball and Hale was able to make him pay for that decision.

The Colonels looked to be on the verge of taking that 1-0 lead to the break when a mistake opened the door for the Colts. With the ball being played just outside the box, Christian County was whistled for a push in the back. Spencer Brown drilled the ensuing direct kick for the Colts to even the match at 1-1 and that would be the score when the teams reached the break.

The Colonels seemed to get the momentum back just 1:30 into the second half when Eric Barrett found the net to give Christian County a 2-1 lead.

With their backs against the wall, the Colts turned to their leading scorer Vasyl Soloshchuk. Soloshchuk scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season over an 11 minutes span to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead for West Jessamine. The Colts would add an insurance goal at the 63:30 mark to secure the win.

The two goals scored by the Colonels equaled the most given up in a match by West Jessamine all season.

Christian County drops to 5-6 on the season. The Colonels will be back in action Thursday when they travel to Webster County.
