A battle of the 2nd Region and the 3rd Region went to the team from the north Thursday night. The Apollo E-Gals visited Hopkinsville and took a straight-set win over the Lady Tigers.
The first set came down to the wire with Apollo taking a 25-21 win to go up one set to none.
The E-Gals controlled the next two sets, taking a 25-14 win in the second and a 25-14 win in the third to complete the match sweep.
Ajayla Shiraef had two kills to lead the Lady Tigers. Shiraef also had two blocks and seven digs. Rilee Joiner had a pair of assists for the Lady Tigers.
Hopkinsville now goes to 2-7 on the season.
The Lady Tigers will travel across town Saturday for a midday match with Christian County.
