Crittenden County Completes Its Drive for Five

Prior to the 2018 volleyball season, Crittenden County had won a single district championship. Now, the Lady Rockets have won five straight district titles with the latest coming Tuesday in straight sets over Livingston Central at Rocket Arena.

Both Livingston Central and Crittenden County will advance to next week’s region tournament at Henderson County. The win was Crittenden’s third over the Lady Cardinals this year and 14th straight dating back to 2017.

Crittenden never trailed in the first two sets, winning 25-11 and 25-15.

The third set was closer as Crittenden had trouble closing out the match. There were six ties and four lead changes with the Lady Rockets grabbing a 14-12 lead. The set was tied at 14 and 16 before Crittenden closed the match with a 9-1 run. Carly Porter had two of her match-high eight kills in the final set.

Katie Perryman added six kills and two blocks for Crittenden County, and Payton Hall had four kills and an ace.

Guill and Riley Martin each had three kills and an ace to lead Livingston Central (5-18).

Crittenden County improved to 18-15 with the victory.
